Lexington firm Quanterix to present at biotech investors conference in San Francisco

Published for The Lexington Minuteman on Sept. 11.

Staff members from the Lexington-based biotechnology firm Quanterix will present at a national conference of technology investors in October.

“There’s an opportunity here to transform the way healthcare can be practiced,” said Kevin Hrusovsky, Quanterix’s chief executive officer.

The Biotechnology Innovation Organization holds set events designed to bring together investors in the biotechnology industry and the companies developing new technologies each year. Quanterix was awarded free entry to a conference called “The Buzz of BIO” on Oct. 18 and 19 in San Francisco to present its patented Simoa HD-1 Analyzer.

The Simoa System finds biomarkers – proteins secreted when the body deals with a disease or an impact – which can find the presence of an injury or disease much more quickly than traditional methods, according to Hrusovsky.
