The Conservation Commission plans to tour the embattled future Grove Street development to properly identify wetlands.
At its Aug. 22 meeting, the commission met with engineers working with Ron Lopez, owner of North Shore Construction and Development, to review the company’s delineation of wetlands on the parcel. About 30 people showed up to the hearing.
Currently, the parcel is under purchase-and-sale agreement between the owner of the land, Gerald Carchia, and Lopez’s firm.
“The applicant’s delineation is never accepted without going out and checking it,” Philip Hamilton, chairman of the commission, said. “We have to make an independent judgment about the delineation of the wetland.”
